Courage comes in many forms and sizes.
Sometimes it's small enough to fit around your finger.
Rings you can believe in.
Midnight's Honor comes from a very simple premise. At our darkest hour, when we're a mess, when we feel as if the world will turn its collective back on us, we are here. We welcome all that you are with open arms. It's a promise not just to all of you, but also to ourselves. Itย does not matter how hard it is, how stuck, irritated, or worthless we feelโย we are there for us. Because we're worth it. Weย asย we are, areย something special and to be cherished.
All of this was taught to Nick growing up by a girl only a few years older than him. Her name was Elly. Elly was the kind of person made from myth and legend. An indomitable will that brought out incredible strength in others. Nick and Elly'sย childhood was spent in a a small unknown cult that was heavily involved in human trafficking. Itย was truly a situation where the kids fought for survival against the evil adults day after day. Through it all, Elly always looked out for them. She always had their backs. She would tie a section of yarn around each of their fingers as a reminder that she was there. In a world that was chaotic and fraught with danger and traps around every corner, Elly was a bastion of strength. She fought for them endlessly, even when it resulted in her own punishment and torture. The ring of yarn she tied around their fingers always reminded Nick of her. And Elly reminded them of their own strengthโ what they could be. This reminder kept them all going through the darkest of their times. It started as a promise that Elly was there. But then one day Elly wasn't. Her heart had beat its final beat. Her fingersย wouldย no longer tie yarn around Nick's or the other children's.ย
But by then her spirit had done its work. Her message had taken hold in enoughย of them for it to carry on. Herย seed hadย bloomed into a tenacious inner strength that years later brought down the cult from within.
Our rings are more than metal. Each one is a promise from us to you that you are capable. That you have the strength to tackle whatever comes your way with honor. Even if it's the darkest part of the night (aka Midnight).
It's an honor that you're here. Welcome.
